Steve McTigue was born on November 11th, 1963 in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, UK. Steve came to acting during a distinguished RAF career spanning some 25 years. Whilst helping out at the Station Theatre in the early 80’s, Steve made his acting début in Oscar Wilde’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ playing the Rev. Canon Chasuble after the original actor was deployed at short notice. Steve would be the first to admit his performance was awful, but the acting seed was planted good and firm.
Steve is a character actor in the truest sense of the word, he has played some of the most famous and iconic people from history, Winston Churchill, King Edward VII & Captain Smith of the Titanic, as well as, from the other end of the spectrum Tramps and Scruffy Old Men!!! Steve prefers the medium of TV & Film and you will find him never too far from a film set somewhere…Over the years he has appeared in the BBC’s Dirk Gently, Hustle, Come Fly With Me, Doctors, Clocking Off, and Cold Feet.
Steve has starred as a ‘Lead Actor’ in no less than two Hollywood Feature Films ‘Dragon Crusaders’ and the Movie “Jack The Giant Killer” starring along side Ben Cross (Chariots of Fire) both Films premièred at the Kodax Cinema in Los Angeles.
He has currently two Feature Film's showing on Amazon Prime Video called ‘Retribution’ A true British Gangster Movie in which he has an important role as the evil Crime Lord ‘Viktor’ and 'Return of the Don'. In 2016 Steve attended the ‘Cannes Film Festival’ where the Feature Film ‘Return of the Don’ was launched, in which he played the role of the Gangster 'Jack Ackerman'. Steve was nominated for an African Film Academy Award for his performance in this film, as well as winning The Depth of Field International Film Festival - Award of Merit for an Actor in a Leading Role again for 'Return of the Don'.
Not only is Steve a consummate actor, but quite an accomplished Voice-Over artist. Having been told once he had the “Perfect actors face for radio”, he decided to take a look at that side of the business, and today can be heard around the world on TV and Radio, as well as ‘Host’ at Royal and Celebrity events, most notably for Her Majesty, The Queen and President George W Bush. Some of his most recent Voice-Over’s have been for Jaguar Cars (USA), The History Channel and National Geographic Channel, Sky and the BBC.
